Clare is one of the 10 best places in the world for a cycling holiday according to the recently published The Lonely Planet Best in Travel 2010. The chosen route passes through Fanore and indeed passes Fanore Holiday Cottages. It takes in the Cliffs of Moher, Miltown Malbay and Doolin. From where it says to "progress to the relentlessly grey, yet capitvating, limestone expanse of the Burren, reminiscent of a lunar landscape".
Clare Burren Marathon in Fanore/Ballyvaughan
The Clare burren Marathon Challenge takes place this Saturday 22nd May.
This is a road, green road and trail challenge across the Beautiful Scenic Burren. Enjoy some of Europe's most unique landscapes and see the Riches of the Burren in Bloom.
Each participant has a choice of full, half or mini marathon on the day. All three challanges start in Ballyvaughan, Co.Clare at 9am, and all three taking you on and off road to the finish line on The Pier at Ballyvaughan.
